After a long night and a lazy morning, brunch was the perfect weekend meal option. I may have said this one or fifty times, but I love brunch!
Since I was staying in the city, the best option was to find a place close to my hotel to grab some delicious food. I found a place right next door called City Tap House and they had a brunch menu. I was sold!
When I got to the restaurant, the menu was overwhelming. There were so many yummy options and I couldn’t narrow down my choices. After plenty of deliberation, I settled on lemon ricotta pancakes. They sounded like the perfect combination and I couldn’t wait to try them.
The pancakes arrived at the table and were topped with caramelized bananas, berries, and real maple syrup! I put a healthy dose of syrup on top and dug in.
The first bite was heavenly. The pancakes were fluffy, flavorful, and delicious. The lemon gave a good pop to the dish and balanced out the berries and syrup well. I devoured these with no remorse.
This is truly one of the best brunch items I’ve had. It was a combination of them having something that I could have only dreamed about as a menu item and perfect execution of said item. If I’m in DC, I’ll be back for more. If you’re in DC, check out City Tap House!
