Capogiro is a sweet treat that I would pretty much devour under any conditions. I’ve eaten it in 20 degree weather and in the full blast of the hot summer sun. There are no limits to my gelato consumption, especially from this place!

Capogiro and I had a short but meaningful love affair back in 2013 when I interned a couple of blocks away. When I came back to visit one of my best friends in the city, I knew I needed to get reacquainted.

I’ve had plenty of flavor combinations, but I went back to some old favorites on this particular occasion. Burnt sugar and salted caramel were a must! Don’t get me wrong though, I definitely got in my fair share of samples to at least give the other flavors a chance.

Once I had my gelato in hand I took a heaping spoonful and it was just as magical and delicious as I remembered. The gelato was smooth and creamy. The flavors were rich but well balanced. Everything contained in my little gelato cup was perfection.

If you find yourself in Philadelphia, it would be a disservice to yourself to not check out Capogiro. Let me know your favorite combos!
