It was a sunny  morning and a lot of people were out and about brunching and relaxing. My friends and I were looking for somewhere local to eat (as per usual) and we came across White Dog Cafe. I’d heard of this place from some friends before, so brunch was the perfect opportunity to check it out.

The menu had quite a few items on it that sounded appealing to me, but I settled on the Lancaster City 3-Egg Omelette. I was also quite happy that they served La Colombe coffee (a personal favorite of mine, but we’ll get to that in another post)!

When my food arrived, I knew I’d made the right call. Not only was I craving a breakfast-type food for brunch, but when my plate arrived and I caught a whiff of my food, I could barely wait. I took a bite as soon as it hit the table and I was in heaven. The omelette was filled with a local smoked bacon, goat cheese, spinach, and sun-dried tomatoes. This gave a wonderful balance of smoky, salty, creamy, crunchy, and tart. It was just…words can’t actually describe.

I didn’t want the experience to end, but I suppose all good things must. Writing this, my mouth is actually watering for those flavors again. My next visit to Philly, White Dog Cafe will be a must!
