Homemade Edition: Fish and Chips

Growing up in Australia, fish and chips were a staple at the dinner table. I have fond memories of walking to the local fish and chip shop with my dad and ordering a piping hot serving of the good stuff. Fast forward to over a decade later and I find myself on the other side of the world, far, far away from the food memories of my youth.

I started a little project which will lead to a bigger project (more on that another time!) and started working to recreate my childhood favorites. Gnarly Barley

I’m always in the area by Gnarly Barley and I’ve passed this place so many times, but have never gone in. It’s literally a tiny shack on Orange Ave that looks like suspect things happen within its doors. I’m so glad a friend suggested the place and that we headed over for lunch. Grandma’s Kitchen

I know it’s been quite a while. A lot of distractions have kept me from blogging, but not from trying delicious foods! As the holidays are approaching, I always get drawn to comfort foods, especially when I’m feeling nostalgic about things, as the holidays tend to do to me.
