Pincho Factory

Location: 7600 Dr Phillips Blvd #102 Orlando, FL 32819

Mmmmmmmmm Pincho Factory. Originally from Miami, I’d been following Pincho Factory for a while and had always wanted to try it. Lucky for me, Pincho Factory decided to open up an Orlando location right by where I live! I was ecstatic to say the least! Continue reading “Pincho Factory”

Christo’s Cafe

Location: 1815 Edgewater Drive Orlando, FL 32804

Look who is finally eating locally in Orlando again! It’s been a little while, but after deciding to play hooky from work, I knew the perfect thing to do was find somewhere delicious to eat! After slaving away all day (ok, not really slaving away) blogging, I deserved a good lunch.

Since I was finally in the area, I settled on Christo’s Cafe. I was excited because I would always pass by around breakfast time and it was ALWAYS packed with people. I went at an odd in between lunch and dinner time, linner I guess? Can that be a thing? Lol. It was pretty empty, which meant I could enjoy a nice quiet solo lunch. Continue reading “Christo’s Cafe”

Tampa Edition: Chicago Paulies

Location: 1301 N Howard Avenue Tampa, FL 33607

Chicago Paulies was a happy accident that I will forever be grateful for. After leaving an appointment, I was starving and wanted a quick lunch option in the area. Whenever I have a chance to try something local, I always jump on it. Thanks to trusty old Yelp, Chicago Paulies came up.

I actually almost gave up on this place first time around. I drove to the location it told me to, and drove past it several times thanks to its camouflaged location attached to a gas station. I tried one more time and I finally saw it! Continue reading “Tampa Edition: Chicago Paulies”

Austin Edition: Chi’lantro BBQ

Location: 1509 S Lamar Blvd Austin, TX 78704

Oh Korean food how I love thee! Central Florida has a severe lack of Korean food, especially modern or fusion Korean food at that. While doing my Texas food research I stumbled across Chi’lantro and knew it was a must. How did they win me over? Two words: Kimchi Fries!!

¬†After getting to Chi’lantro I got a little trigger happy on the ordering. I excitedly ordering the fries, but I also ordered kimchi fried rice balls and a beef rice bowl. I was with my friend and we decided to head to Mt Bonnell to take in the view with our meal. We opened everything and couldn’t wait to pig out! Continue reading “Austin Edition: Chi’lantro BBQ”

Big John’s Rockin BBQ

Location: 324 Broadway Kissimmee, FL 34741

I’ve lived in the South for a long time now. I’m not saying that makes me a BBQ expert, but I know good food, and that includes good BBQ. I’m very picky about BBQ because it’s not my favorite thing in the world, so if you’ve won me over, you’re doing it right!

I headed to Big John’s on the recommendation of a friend who was craving eating here on an almost daily basis at that point. I needed to know what all the hype was about. I walked in and the smell of smoked meat overpowered me, it was wonderful. After talking to the friendly staff for a few minutes, I decided on a sampler platter so I could try everything! D.C. Edition: Birch and Barley

Location: 1337 14th St NW Washington D.C., 20005

I started strong with the D.C. food scene and I wasn’t ready to end it. The next night, I was with a different best friend and he had some good food in mind. We were staying in a touristy part of town, but we made our way to a local place called Birch and Barley. It’s the bar above its sister restaurant, Churchkey (which our unplanned selves did not make reservations for!), but serves a lot of the same menu items as downstairs. Continue reading “D.C. Edition: Birch and Barley”

Pig Floyd’s Urban Barbakoa

Location: 1326 North Mills Avenue Orlando, FL 32803

I took the trip across town to Pig Floyd’s with my roommate and as usual, the place was buzzing. Not only is the food good here, but there’s a nice atmosphere. The weather in Florida has been nice so sitting in the outdoor patio they have was a perfect place to eat! I know I’m gushing about this place, I just can’t help it! BurgerFi

Location: http://burgerfi.com/locations

A while back a friend and I were craving good old American comfort food. What does that translate to for us? Burgers and fries, baby! So we set out to eat at BurgerFi, which is a chain (not a huge fan of chains), but good nonetheless. I’d never actually gotten food from there so I was eager to try a few things. We talked to the person at the register and after some deliberation settled on a New York Style Hot Dog, A Double Bacon Cheeseburger (heart attack waiting to happen!) and “Urban” Fries from their “secret” menu. Continue reading “BurgerFi”

Ararat Euro Food Bistro

Location: 7540 Universal Blvd Orlando, FL 32819

So I woke up one day with a craving for delicious European food. Maybe I was feeling nostalgic for food I had growing up, but I had tunnel vision and the light at the end of the tunnel was leading me to schnitzel. If you haven’t had schnitzel before it’s basically a pounded out meat steak (usually pork) that’s breadcrumbed and pan fried.

So what did I do? I went to google and searched “schnitzel Orlando.” Lol. Ararat Bistro was one of the first to come up and since it got some decent reviews I decided to give it a try. Continue reading “Ararat Euro Food Bistro”
