Cafe 906

Location: 4932 New Broad Street Orlando, FL 32814

Sooooo…it’s been a while. A new job has been keeping me extremely busy, but I’m getting back into the swing of things! Positives include a much shorter commute and plenty of new food options to try. In getting to know my new co-workers, we went out for a lunch and decided to try Cafe 906, a French cafe, on the suggestion of one of my co-workers, who was born and raised in France.

I can honestly say that French is not my strong suit. I indulge in a croissant here and there, I eat french fries (does that even count?!), but aside from that, I’m in the dark. On the recommendation from said co-worker, I decided to try the spinach and mushroom crepe. A crepe is like an eggy, thin pancake that can be savory or sweet. Obviously I went the savory route and also had my crepe loaded with cheesy goodness.

We sat outside to enjoy the nice weather and lake view and not long after our food arrived. I dug into it and it was heavenly. The crepe was thin but soft and delicious. It was stuffed to the brim with all of the delicious ingredients and they all complemented each other so well. It’s not something I would have typically chosen, but I’m so glad that I gave it a try. I foresee a lot of crepes from Cafe 906 in my future.

Additional side note: Their coffee and desserts are also delicious. You can’t choose anything bad there!

Ever wake up with a craving that just HAS to be satisfied?! The day I ventured to Sofrito was one of those days. I needed some Latin food in my life, and lucky for me, I knew just the place I wanted to go! I’d been eyeing Sofrito for a while. It was relatively new, located close to home, and was cute (always a plus)!  Continue reading “Sofrito Latin Cafe”

Tako Cheena

Location: 932 North Mills Avenue Orlando, FL 32803

My love of Tako Cheena has spanned the years, and I can honestly say I never lose interest! Tako Cheena and I are in it for the long haul.

I had a friend from out of town visiting so I wanted to take her somewhere memorable and truly unique to Orlando. Tako Cheena was the first thing that came to mind. It’s a small location and usually always packed, but the food has never failed me. Continue reading “Tako Cheena”

The Yard Bird Cafe

Another travel edition of Recommendable Edibles! Last weekend I did a charity walk with my family and friends in St. Augustine. Well, I can’t travel anywhere without trying some of the local food! This one almost didn’t happen. We were a group of five and we showed up to The Yard Bird Cafe, which is pretty close to historic St. Augustine. We walked in and were told the wait would be almost an hour. No thanks! I was starving. I was a little disappointed as we walked out but we heard someone yelling at us as we were walking to the car. A table was leaving and if we waited ten minutes, we could be seated. Perfect! Continue reading “The Yard Bird Cafe”
